The transfer size of USB storage device refers to miniport drive of USB host controller or port driver Usbport.sys, if you use maximum transfer size of USB, then it may fail or stop transferring and shows you an error.

But Microsoft has released an update which helps to increase the transfer size of USB storage device in windows 7 and windows 2008 R2.
If you have this update, you can increase the transfer size from 64 KB to 2 MB. To have this update visit KB2581464.
